Gouache on paper

When I first got my gouache paints, I needed to test them out and have a play around. I eat a banana everyday and loved the idea of painting one, but wanted a more interesting shape with textures to paint.
When I see a banana peel I immediately think of those classic cartoon scenes when the character slips on one, I can even hear the sound effect. This is why this study painting is titled so. I also really love negative space in my works and find that the space is always just as important as the subject itself.
