Pumicestone Passage is the narrow, shallow body of water which separates Bribie Island from the mainland. This spectacular waterway offers perfect viewing across the sheltered waters of the estuary to the volcanic peaks of the Glass House Mountains which rise dramatically from the mainland landscape.
An old wooden fishing boat, a seagull drifting by and the calm waters reflecting the blue sky is all I needed to inspire me to paint this tranquil scene.
