Gouache on canvas

This piece was inspired by my little boy bringing me handfuls of flowers that I would put in little jugs or vases and sit where I could see them in the kitchen light. I wanted the way these flowers were painted to reflect that wild freeness of children, wildflowers, and sunshine. I use acrylic paint as a base before sketching my design in charcoal and painting with gouache. The painting has been sealed with a Matt varnish.
