Such delight is to be found in the humble mess of grasses and scrub. In the summer heat, the only sounds are the clicks of grasshoppers and twitter of finches in the brambles. New, magenta wildflowers dot the scrub with little pea-shaped flowers nodding along long canes through the grasses.
Using water-mixable oil paints for depth of colour, layers of delicate textures are built up with wash and rag work for organic marks, overlaid with freestyle, dry brushwork.
