Rome's myriad statues of angels and gods on the church tops and monuments seem to watch over the city from on high. On this drizzly day in Rome, the city's earthy tones of terracotta and stone blended with the muted sky, highlighting the white domes and the top of huge Victor Emmanuel Monument II (left of image) with its statues of the goddess Victoria in her horse-drawn chariot - thereby connecting these angels and gods to the earth, down through the city.

This little piece is on a reclaimed stone tile and custom framed by a professional framing house, with cream and dark red matt in a gorgeous, lux white-gold textured frame that was so very 'Rome'!
