I am primarily influenced by atmospheric conditions in the landscape. The deckchair was abandoned by the edge of the onrushing tide‚ a storm was about to break yet there was a peaceful calm feeling in the scene. The beach was deserted at twilight yet there was evidence of the day spent by the beach .
I like a smooth surface to my work and eschew unnecessary texture.
