I dreamed of seeing the sunflower fields in France, but I was there one autumn, and they were spent. This is my tribute to that dream, to see them in Summer, in bloom.
The background of the painting was intended to be black but I elected to create some texture there reminiscent of some of the velvet fabrics of olde.
