Oil on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

The original title of this work, painted in 2018, was simply 'Mooring buoy'. It captured the tidal flow of Canaipa passage which separates Russell Island and North Stradbroke Island. I renamed it to "Has slipped his mooring" when in April 2019, a well known and much loved local sailor, "Skaffie" (David Beard), passed away. In sailing terms, Skaffie had slipped his mooring. A lone mooring will now always remind me of .... someone I had known. Thanks for the memories, Barney.
