Every Spring Flannel Flowers flourish on the nearby headland, creating a sea of white against the blue sky and the Pacific Ocean in the background. Every Spring there are more flowers, as a result of the seeds being blown in the wind and the very mature pod in the painting is just about to burst open. True to their name, these delicate Australian native flowers are soft to the touch, covered in tiny hairs that shield them from the environmental elements.

My style is a combination of looseness and detail, allowing watercolour to do its magic and then adding some detail bringing the subject to life.
