Soft and Delicate Gum Blossoms by Anica Amphlett is an original watercolour painting and requires framing to hang.

I often find myself inspired to paint gum blossoms. To give these delicate flowers a loose but special softness I used a new approach, thus sprinkling them with salt, which aided in the speckled effect. There are many types of gum blossoms in a variety of colours and yet they are all so equally beautiful. Eucalypt blossoms decorate our gardens and landscape and never fail to impress. The birds love them and feed on their juicy nectar. Nature is beautiful!

My style is a combination of looseness and detail, allowing watercolour to do its magic and then adding some detail bringing the subject to life.
