Artwork Description

Sealed MDF board

I have an affinity with water, especially the movement of the ocean and of waterfalls. I find it soothing to look at foam, splashes, reflections and ripples. This painting is inspired by a waterfall in Lamington National Park, with thanks to Lauren for the lovely reference photo. I experimented with different brush marks and blending to make the water come alive. The painting is unframed so that you can find the perfect frame to suit your decor.

Pandanus palm with sunlit leaves and curving branches, reaching out over the curling waves in the aqua ocean below.Light behind the top of a breaking wave with foam trails in the water below, and a distant view of the Lover's Point Headland at Yamba. It is a moody overcast day and a woman in a blue dress is enjoying the feel of the shallow water around her ankles as she paddles in the small waves near the shore. Behind her is a rocky platform with a hint of green seaweed along the top of the rocks.Back view of a lady in a red swimsuit standing by the ocean baths at Yamba, perhaps deciding whether to take a dip.
