Pelican grooming himself while standing on a weathered wooden pole at the swimming enclosure at Amity. The cloudy sky and calm bay water are a deep muted blue, completed by the reddish brown wood of the wooden poles. There is a net strung between the wooden poles. The pelican stands atop the pole, bright in the early morning sunshine, contrasting brightly against the darker sky.

Photographed at Brown Lake on North Stradbroke Island, it is an abstract landscape image featuring reddish orange yellow and green reeds in the lower third of the pic, blue water in the middle third, and the top third has the row of trees on the far bank and some sky and clouds, the interesting thing about this image is that i used a photography technique called Intentional Camera Movement, using a long exposure and moving the camera throughout the exposure, creates a beautiful streaky abstract image with a wonderful sense of movement and mystery. The colour palette featured in the image is muted blues, greens and yellows, with a bolder deeper reds and oranges.
