This artwork was created during Covid restrictions and painted in my studio. The oil paint has been applied thickly with a palette knife, somewhat reminiscent of the palette knife paintings of the French realist painter Gustav Courbet. It follows a painting trip I made to Central Australia many years ago where I was inspired by the dramatic colours of the outback cliffs.
