Surrealist painters dig deep into the unconscious mind to unlock the power of imagination. The Surrealism movement began in the early 1920s and emphasised on the ideas of chaos and unconscious desires. Surrealist ideas came from its predecessor Dadaism and flourished in Europe between the World Wars. . Notable artists of the modern movement include Max Ernst, Salvador DalΓ and Joan MirΓ³.
