I was told a story wherein a secretary to a famous finishing school doyenne was fired. On receiving a glowing reference, she asked why she had been fired, if her work had been so wonderful? Her boss replied with "i'm sorry my dear, it wasn't working out- you just have no couth". Her response? "Well WTF is couth?'
