It's a recent realisation that when I am painting, one of the many things I am trying to capture is the sound of things... in this case, the clatter of palm fronds, and the raucous screeching of Rainbow Lorikeets. This highly textured painting has so many layers I can hardly remember what I did- from printed medieval text layered into the trunks, to corrugated card and shredded placemats... and it also seems that you can take the girl out of the tropics, but the tropics seems to stay in the girl!
