THROUGH THE LACE is a painting that combines abstraction with folk art motifs. Patterns in silver and aqua are superimposed over multi-coloured abstract shapes that create the effect of a lace curtain in front of an ambiguous background vibrant hues. Essentially the painting is a celebration of colour, shapes and patterns. The artwork is designed to be flexible in the way it’s displayed so it may be hung on the wall either horizontally or vertically. It has been wired both ways to accommodate these two options.
