This display was at the Melbourne Flower Show in 2018. I loved the composition of the hung flowers against the dark blue backdrop and just had to paint them. Since I painted this, I have altered the painting as I wanted to reflect that everything changes and the flowers would eventually fade and wither. Not to be depressing, I kept the original vibrant colours to reflect that change is not necessarily a bad thing but an essential thing. Without change, even paintings can become stagnant.
