The de Havilland DH82 Tiger Moth is arguably one of the most successful aircraft ever made. First flown in 1931, it was developed and built all over the world as a training aircraft for both military and commercial operators . It was a robust biplane, simple and cheap to own and maintain. Around 8,000 were built with about 250 still in service, 175 of these are in Australia. A bright yellow Tiger Moth flies over our house every day and if the wind is blowing really strongly it is above our house for quite a while! I though it would make for an interesting watercolour.
