The first time I saw Bob King at a Rock concert I knew I wanted to paint his portrait. Bob through his photography has documented and captured the spirit of Rock n Roll in Australia. He has had several books published full of wonderful photos of the most iconic Rockstar's in the world. When I talking to him he explained that now everyone can take a photo at a concert and often the official photographers have to stand at the back and use long lenses to get a photo. Of course they are still employed by acts that want professional photos to use for promotion. I wanted to capture the sense of a Rock concert with bright lights and crowds with their phones in the air. Bob is still enjoying his lifelong passion as photographer. I used bright colours blended with soft brushes in order to capture the idea of laser lights in the background. Bob is painted realistically wearing his trademark hat.
