Two hot pink antique chairs sat by the window of the cottage. It was my favourite place to have a cup of tea, especially one Saturday morning when my best friend travelled thousands of kilometres by plane to visit.
We overlooked the green valley and chatted like teenage girls about our school days, past boyfriends, our families, our careers, and what the future would bring us.
The orange drapes reminded me of the hours we would spend cleaning Cinema 1 when we got the same job at 16. It was like a piece of our friendship was in my own home. So nostalgic.
Our friendship has lasted decades and will last for several more. I long for the day when we’re in our 80s and back in this same spot with our cup of tea, giddy about how we made it.
