The historical buildings in Gamla Stan have a story to tell. Every winter it snows. Sometimes residents are snowed in and can’t get out. Schools close and everyone stocks up on food months ahead to be prepared.
Snow boots are left in the mud room and Nordic socks become the fashion. Doona bed socks await sleepy heads. Lap dogs and cats take their place on their faviroute humans, and no one complains.
In winter, 7 hours of sunlight beacons. This makes the home all that more important and cosier, especially with fireplaces in each room and sun lamps near doors to get a vitamin D fix.
The frosty weather feels like hope when the sky is clear and the moon shines at night. The next season is coming and soon we will leave our homes and breathe in the fresh air once again.
