Transylvania Twilight is an original painting inspired by a cover of a pulp magazine from the 1940s. Jane appropriated a picture of an apprehensive woman dressed in a scarlet cape and placed her against the background of a Transylvania castle. In doing so, Jane referenced and re-interpreted the mythologies of both Little Red Riding Hood and Dracula. These stories play on our fear of lurking predators.
