My paining is deeply influenced by my travels throughout the Himalayas.
Here I express my sentiment that for all I have achieved, it is truly the Sherpa teams who support all that I do. Here we are at the base of the world's sixth tallest mountain, Cho Oyu, and Pasang Sherpa, with a team, carried the ropes and lines to the summit to 'open the mountain' for climbers. Commercial climbers rely on fixed ropes to keep the climbing experience safer at high altitude. Two days later Pasang Sherpa stood alongside me on the summit at 8201m, within the death zone of reduced oxygen but surviving on the exhilaration of achievement, ...and supplementary bottled oxygen.
In the six weeks it takes to acclimatise the body for high altitude climbing, I continued to paint everyday, with sketchbooks filled with journal writing and watercolour painting of the people and places that support my adventures.
