Mixed Media on paper
Signed on the front.
My friend John lives on a gorgeous block in the Whipstick, north of Bendigo. It's full of amazing bird life, because there is good quality and a variety of habitats out there. I always go for a walk before settling down to work, helps me get the feel of the place, and on this day I saw a Golden Whistler who responded to my whistles and came quite close. A treasured encounter for sure.
On returning from my walk I sat on the ground, with my paper moulding over bits of bark, leaves and rocks. With some water, the paper takes on the shape of the ground and watercolour pigment pools and swirls in the depressions. I particularly like the Daniel Smith colour Moonglow, as it's a combination of three different pigments which sort of separate and do their own delicious thing to an extent.
