Mixed Media on paper
Signed on the front.
There's a lovely spot in the bush behind my house, I like to watch birds there. So I dragged two very large pieces of paper and my tool box of art materials, and found a spot to sit on the ground and drew and painted. Eastern Yellow Robin and Fuscous Honeyeaters live here all year round, so they ended up in the painting, along with a bird list of other species I saw and heard whilst working.
There's a shifting of light in this piece and a sensitivity that makes it soothing and gentle. It's a monumental statement, partly due to its impressive size. The scale also allows the viewer to step inside the world of the BoxIronbark Forest and loose ones self for a time in peace and tranquility.
