This painting was created for an exhibition focusing on themes of identity and society. I planned the work around ideas of Australian society's views on casual heavy drinking behaviour, an activity entwined with most life events such as weddings and birthdays. The image can be seen as humorous on the surface, reflecting how we as a society tend to overlook the deeper issues regular heavy drinking can signify.
