This painting is an abstracted landscape painting and is about a scene at a location known as the Picnic Grounds, at Arkaroola, a wildlife sanctuary in the north of the Flinders Ranges, South Australia. This is one of a series painted at Arkaroola at a week-long art workshop. This painting was started outside, with a grand view of rock faces in one direction, and a more quiet view of a hillside behind. This painting started with the rock face view, but brought in elements all around me as I sat and painted under the trees. It was further developed in the studio on site in Arkaroola before finishing back at home.
The painting does not need to be framed behind glass so it can be framed in a simple platform frame or box frame - see the Bluethumb framing options. You may choose to frame it behind glass and it will look lovely with a wide mount board as in some of the in situ photos.
