Mixed Media on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
This piece took awhile to form. Being an intuitive painter, I let the canvass āspeakā to me in a way. I was struggling. It sat on my easel for months, then got put away, brought out again. I realised it wasnāt the canvass, it was me. I needed to free my mind, be still and just paint.
To me, being still is where you find beauty. I grew up on acreage, surrounded by Canadian creatures large (very large) and small. My parents would often say āJen! Thereās a deer! Be still!ā. The deer, or moose, or even a bear would emerge from the forest. It was so incredible living with these giant animals at my doorstep. Occasionally frightening but always rewarding.
This painting was a reminder to me to simply stop, breathe, and be still.
This piece is filled with colour and not just blue. Thereās green, turquoise, violet, magenta and deep Prussian blue. Although I try my absolute best to photograph it properly, itās still a struggle to truly represent what I see in person.
If youād like to see what this one will look like in your home, certainly feel free to send me a message and I can attempt to photoshop it into your space.
It will be finished with a satin varnish to lock in the colour without the glare of a gloss. Although it has painted edges and is ready to be hung, it would also look gorgeous with a natural or a black frame depending on your decor.
