Growing up just minutes from the beach, I always considered myself a 'beach girl', but usually had to be home before nightfall, and was astounded when I started discovering the beauty of sunsets over the ocean, with sun setting west of them in Adelaide. Until I travelled I thought all had such wonderful sunset, and while many places do, I think ocean sunset surpass them all - some lasting hours in moody weather conditions.
Some 20+ years ago, I moved back to the beach after being away from it for quite some time. And with the new popularity of digital cameras (and convenience), I went every night, hoping for some stunning shots. Some wintry nights were exceptions of course. But well rewarded. For a while in those early digital days I sold CDRoms full of sunset photos, and POD (Print-on-demand) products - greeting cards, t-shirts, with my photos on them. That was fun, and I loved that others loved my sunset photos.
Once again, after being away from beaches again, I'm back by the beach. I don't go every night to local Semaphore Beach, but am well-rewarded so many times when I do. As photos are now being taken by far better photographers than myself, I prefer to convert mine to paintings - as most find such paintings too challenging. There is no way I can copy my photos as they are so very complex in colours and more, I capture the essence of them, based somewhat on my photos. This is one such work, and loved the dramatic feel to it and hope you do, too. With my painting on your wall, you can enjoy a beautiful, perfect sunset every night!
Signed on back. Painting continued on sides in solid black. Ready-to-hang (wire), but can be framed if desired.
