Watercolour on paper
Signed on the front.
I love attending events that involve costumed people having a wonderful time - like cowboy reenactments, rodeos, circuses, renaissance fairs, parades, and more. And living in the USA I certainly sought out these type of events, and probably drove the participants crazy taking so many photos of them. But overall they were all wonderful folk having a darn good time, with plenty of laughter all around.
This was a cowboy reenactment in the town of Jacksonville in southern Oregon, where I lived for about 8 years. You can see these ladies who were 'wash house women', but I think they, as per old cowboy days, had a side-occupation, luring the cowboys into their 'wash room'. Plenty of laughter ran through the streets, and this is just one happy scene.
Many, many hours of work in this. It took a month to paint, and probably looking at the details, you can see that. It exhibited in downtown Medford, where the exhibition personnel decided to put this painting in the main window, on the main street, where it received a lot of attention and interest. And further to that it was chosen to be exhibited in the Watercolor (Watercolour) Society of Oregon's annual art show and exhibition in Portland, Oregon and was published in their catalogue in 2010.
All care is taken to represent my artwork, due to monitors, colour, and also size in interior 'in situ' hanging suggestion, can vary. Signed on front, and rear, with COA provided.
