"Banksias in a Glass Jug" was painted from a still life set up in my studio.
This painting features a beautiful bouquet of flowers with the dominant ones being two banksias. The flowers are standing in a tall glass jug which shows the stems and the surrounding light reflections.
This painting is part of a series of still life works where the shadows in the paintings are highlighted and the graphic angular shapes allude to the angle and geometry within a house or home. These shapes juxtapose with the softer organic shapes of the collected floral subject matter.
My signature is on the front of the work.
The surface has been varnished for added protection.
