Oil on stretched canvas, ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
"Glass Jar with Banksia" was painted from a still life set up in my studio.
The banksia in this painting was originally dyed, and whilst it had faded into a lovely burnt orange over the last couple of weeks, I was surprised to find that the water in the jar had turned pink from the dye. I thought it added a lovely little pop of contrasting colour.
This painting is part of a series of still life works where the shadows in the paintings are highlighted and the graphic angular shapes allude to the angle and geometry within a house or home. These shapes juxtapose with the softer organic shapes of the collected floral subject matter.
My signature is on the front of the work.
The surface has been varnished for added protection.
