An early morning walk at a friend's farm in the middle of winter rewarded me with countless painting opportunities. As I stood watching the cows earnestly eating, the sun rose over the surrounding mountains filling the misty cold air with golden light. This artwork captures the peaceful scene of a country landscape featuring majestic mountain gums, hills of pasture and cows feeding in the distance.
Framed in white timber shadow box frame.

An enigmatic portrait of a young woman incorporates a peachy pink palette together with floral imagery creating a beautifully feminine painting.A Merino ram is beautifully displayed on a pastel blue/lilac background. A flock of merino sheep, heavily laden with their beautiful wool, are waiting for their turn to be shorn in the sheep yards attached to the shearing shed at Poolbrook Station, Nullamanna NSW (near Inverell). The poised attitude of the head reminds me of the graceful silhouette of a Modigliani portrait with the colour and exotic nature of Gaugin's Tahiti paintings. The figure is painted in oils using alla prima (wet-on-wet) technique on a ground of pale blue and lilac acrylic wash. This artwork is my first experiment incorporating some fluorescent paint into a composition—here in the shape of a single stroke which balances the dark mass of the subject's hair.
