Mixed Media on stretched canvas, ready to hang.
Signed on the front.
To be perfectly frank, this painting started life looking very different: one of two still life paintings I began whilst on an artists' residency in November 2022, it had a creamy pale lemon background. One of a pair (it's companion is Red and Gold Circle Vase), they both looked a little lacklustre and the flowers didn't "pop" as I wanted them to. Then Chinese new year came and went and I saw a lot of red in the media - tv, social media etc. I had a tube of paint I'd never opened, Permanent Brown Madder, and lo and behold it isn't brown, but a delicious, deep if you want it to be, lustrous red. And that I couldn't resist. To provide some balance, I also added collaged painted tissue paper elements as well. I hope you like it too.
My logo mark is on the bottom right hand side of the painting and a signature, date and title is on the back.
