Linocut Print on paper
Signed and numbered on the front.
This is a linocut print of Australian New Holland Honey Eaters. I’m inspired by both the Australian natural and urban environments.
My linocut and woodblock prints go through an intricate hand-carving and design process to achieve simplicity and the play of shade, tone, and texture. It's a labour of love that takes time and care, resulting in a truly unique piece that captures the essence of my inspiration.
Some of my influences include the 20th-century Japanese Sōsaku-hanga woodblock print movement, along with amazing Australian printmakers like Margret Preston and Barbara Hanrahan. And let's not forget the genius of Un'ichi Hiratsuka, a Japanese printmaker who leaves a lasting impression on my work.
