I was inspired by this serene scene we visited on our way home in mid afternoon. A lovely coastal scene showcasing the natural beauty of this beach. With a prominent cliff covered in lush greenery, parts of which are in shadow and another in the distance, glowing in the afternoon sunshine. A sandy beach stretching into the far distance, with footprints and bordered by posts connected with ropes. Beachcombers either strolling around or just relaxing in the still warm sand. I painted the gently crashing ocean waves in various hues indicating movement and depth and of course some flocks of seagulls is a must. A wonderful created contrast with the deepening shadows along the beach against the remaining sunlit areas. Hence the title 'Enjoying the Last Rays of Sunshine at Garie Beach, Royal National Park'.
