Artwork Description

Watercolour on paper

Signed on the front.

I've currently switched back to creating a body of works using watercolours. I first heard of this reasonably new watercolour paper, when I was taking notes watching my gifted DVD by world reknowned watercolour artist Thomas Schaller. Coming from a background using only Arches brand cotton rag and a few others, experimenting with this new brand proves to be quite interesting.
"Queensland Bottle Trees in a Sunburnt Landscape" is one of my first attempts. From memory, we came across this outback landscape in Western Queensland on our way home from visiting Daly Waters Pub in Northern NT. I fell in love with the vast array of colours one encounters in the Australian Outback, especially the ochre red colours of the ground.
