"Shallow Waves at Coledale Beach, Illawarra Coast" was inspired by me wanting to get out of the house and feel the sea breeze blowing through my hair. I've been yearning to visit our beautiful beaches along the NSW coast for a long time now, hence my inspiration to create a scene I came across driving along the Sea Cliff Bridge. Such stunning views with beaches and coves looking south towards Wollongong. The beautiful Austinmer beach with some swimmers and a rider on the crest of a wave somewhere in there, onlookers and some wandering on the rocky platforms at the southern end of the beach. I haven't been able to take a photo which depicts not only the sapphire blues of the sea but also the emerald green in various tonal values.
