This playful encaustic piece of art was inspired by my love and wonder at dragonflies. As a child they were seasonal, like Christmas beetles. They would suddenly appear on a warm summer breeze confirming the time of year. I always wondered from whence they came, what they had seen, how far they had travelled. I miss them. Within the 8+ layers of heat fused bees wax i have used pigments of oil and ink, cicada wings and paper. I hope you enjoy her as much as i have creating her.
