Portraits of my imaginary friends

Rene (73 years old) worked his whole life as a bartender at the bar ‘de IJdele Hoop’, which means 'The Vain Hope'. He has been single his whole life.
The money inherited from his parents as their only child is long, long gone. Since the age of 65, he has received a state pension, but he can't stop himself from bartending, every night of the week. So, every evening at 6 PM he takes a seat at the same table in the bar. His former boss Marina cooks him a good plate of food and a couple of gins for free. And then he helps her by entertaining the customers for a few hours for free too.
