A secluded lake in Flaxton on the Blackall Range is the subject for this small landscape. It's just a twenty minute drive along the mountain from my home-town Maleny in Queensland. Several artists and I ventured early one morning for a few hours en plein air painting and resource gathering. The stillness and early lighting effects were so inspiring and peaceful. I decided to change the format from the original horizontal work to a square painting to emphasize the stillness and reflections of the lake. This is the third painting of this series title in which I feature a tree with a view.
