Mixed Media on wood, ready to hang.

I grow these beautiful Oak Leaf Hydrangeas in my front garden. I love how their big, blousy blooms come out white and the palest green then, as spring turns to summer they change to dusky pinks and mauves. I picked a few sprigs and placed them in a terracotta planter pot for this still life. This painting would brighten up any spot in your home, either on its own or as part of a gallery wall.
The painting is completed on cradled wood panel, sealed then finished with two coats of gesso. An acrylic under painting is then applied and then a layer of oils to finish. I seal the work with Gamvar varnish for easy cleaning and long life. The sides are unpainted and present in their natural wood state. The paintings do not require framing and are strung with D-hooks and wire at the back, ready to hang. However, they could be framed if that is your preference.
