This work is part of a series of watercolours in which I experiment with how the watercolour behaves on different textures of various high-grade watercolour paper. The overlapping and layering of the watercolours creates a three dimensional aspect in 'Red Petals' and my interest in materials, colour, texture, pattern and abstraction is reflected in the work.
I find the repetition and deep focus in making these watercolours meditative and immersive.
'Red Petals' would be a lovely and uplifting addition to any space with it's vibrant colours, delicate and intricate patterns and interesting technique.
