This large vibrant watercolour features a collection of Australian flowers including banksia, banksia pods, leaves, protea and bottlebrush. It's a combination of two of my fave things; retro pottery and Aussie plants.
I am so excited that Autumn is here (red wine, rugby, poached pears, indoors being a reclusive painter listening to The Smiths while it rains outside) that I am celebrating with a switch to warm hues in this painting. I really like the browns and reds against that turquoise vase.
This large watercolour has been painted onto very thick cream textured watercolour paper and features a lovely deckled edge on all sides, which can be left on show for framing, or hidden under the border mount if preferred.
