Many of the native street trees from my local neighbourhood feature in my paintings; this beautiful huge Peppercorn tree lives at the end of Juliett Street in Enmore and is a contrast to the built environment of the area. It's delicate branches lean down to touch people's heads as they walk past, and it always reminds me of an oriental scene (if I squint hard and disregard the abandoned shopping trolleys parked underneath it's canopy). The tree is home to lots of bird life that changes with the seasons including these gorgeous Australian Magpies.
This large work on paper in subdued grey, indigo and teal hues includes many hours of intricate white line work/mark making which is a signature of my work. Looks fantastic hung together as a pair with 'Banksia and Silver Dollar in Glass Vase' Also for sale on Bluethumb, see link below:
