Watercolour on paper
Signed on the front.
Sometimes I feel like painting flowers from life and sometimes - as with this painting, I like to remove much of the form and focus on the simplicity of shape and composition only. This requires studying my specimens and drawing from life, then putting the reference out of sight and using memory and a sprinkling of artist's license to create my stylised still life paintings.
This Painting features a couple of King Protea, some silver dollar and sprigs of golden wattle arranged in a blue glass vase. Painted on to beautiful thick textured watercolour paper. Unframed.
