Moving away from painting on vintage materials has been quite liberating. Just the fun of exploring what paint can do, what little nooks and crannies are there to discover, makes the process far more time consuming but much more satisfying. Although my love for the timeless appeal of decades past shows in my choice of composition, I am aiming to bring the sitters forward to more present time with the use of colour and design. Those old photos I've collected for the past few years are being renewed in a different way. Edges painted with wrapped image. Lightly varnished.
