An underpainting in acrylic give me the direction, color tones and the feel of what’s being translated to the canvas. I then apply multiple layers of pallet knife color combinations and mediums with small amounts of color to build the layers and transitions. I’ve used charcoal as an indication of land forms and sealed before editing what I want to leave. Each layer has to dry and the proceeds is repeated with thin vails of color and medium to create depth.
I complete it in a gloss finish.
