I love black and wanted to create a contemporary statement piece that had clean lines. I’ve used a very small 1 cm flat edge palette knife, Matt gel medium infused with tones of white and a soft blue /gray and then glazed back thru with a prim rose yellow to give a hazy shimmer and to draw the eye towards the central feature. . The exterior I’ve gone for a larger pallet knife and added a burgundy / magenta glaze that has been wash over areas and the rubbed off.
The work is compact in the interior and the pushes outwards with larger mark making. Bottom left detail of triangular marks.
Side are finished in black and finished in Matt.
All my work is in triple primed poly cotton canvas and my frames are custom made to size.
